 A native of Indianapolis, Indiana, Pastor Preston was born into a family of four with a loving and God-filled mother who brought him up in the church and taught him to love the lord. He never had an opportunity to know his father, but the lord placed other role models and great men of God in his life to help mold him into the man he is today. Pastor Preston was called into the ministry at an early age, presenting his first sermon at 13. It was evident at that time that he was gifted and his gift opened up many doors for him to display the anointing God had placed on his life. Throughout his teenage years he was blessed to travel various places to preach the word of God and do motivational speaking, primarily to his peers. Overcoming many obstacles, personal setbacks, and downfalls, Pastor Preston was led by God to Peoria, Illinois in 2002 to lead what was then the South Side Church of Christ. The church began to grow exponentially both spiritually and numerically. The name was later changed to The City on a Hill, identifying the destiny of this church in the city - to be a guiding force that all could see. Under Pastor Preston's leadership the church has done many great things to bless the community and grow God's kingdom.
With his compassionate personality and his electrifying and profound, yet practical message, Pastor Preston has touched many lives all across the country. He has even been blessed to minister internationally in the country of Jamaica. He is truly a gift to the Body of Christ. He resides in Peoria, Illinois with his lovely wife of seven years, Helen L. Preston. They have two beautiful children: William D. Preston, II and Dymyn Ryelle Preston. Pastor Preston currently holds a Bachelors Degree in Biblical Studies and is working toward his Bachelors in Psychology. He is a humble man and despite all he accomplishes he never ceases to give the glory to the Father in Heaven - the one who made him who he is.
